Bayelsa Media Awards (BMA) - 12th Edition

1General Terms

1.

Eligibility: The Bayelsa Media Awards (BMA) is open to individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the media industry in Bayelsa State and the region.

2.

Categories: The BMA has three types of categories:

  • Voted Categories: Winners are determined by public voting.
  • Judged Categories: Winners are determined by a panel of judges.
  • Honorary Categories: Recipients are selected by the BMA organizers.
3.

Nomination Process: Nominations must be submitted through the official BMA website: www.bma.org.ng or designated nomination email address: bayelsamediaawards@gmail.com. Self-nominations are allowed.

4.

Entry Requirements: Each nominee must provide all required information and materials as requested by the organizers.

2Voted Categories

1.

Voting Process: Voting will be conducted online through the BMA website or designated voting platform.

2.

Voting Period: The voting period will be announced on the BMA website and social media channels.

3.

Voting Rules:

  • • Each voter has a limit of fifty (50) votes per category.
  • • Voting is open to the public, but voters may be required to register or provide contact information.
  • • The nominee with the highest number of votes in each category will be declared the winner.

3Judged Categories

1.

Judging Criteria: A panel of judges will evaluate nominees based on criteria outlined for each category, including but not limited to:

  • • Excellence in media practice
  • • Innovation and creativity
  • • Impact and relevance
  • • Professionalism and integrity
2.

Judging Process: The judging process will be fair, transparent, and impartial. Judges' decisions are final and binding.

3.

Judges' Selection: Judges will be selected based on their expertise and experience in the media industry.

4Honorary Categories

1.

Selection Process: Recipients of honorary awards will be selected by the BMA organizers.

2.

Criteria: The BMA organizers will consider factors such as outstanding contributions to the media industry, lifetime achievements, and impact on the community.

5General Terms

1.

Nomination Fee: BMA operates a free entry. No fees are attached to nominations.

2.

Voting Payment Terms: Payment is required for the voting process and must be made through the designated voting platform.

3.

Intellectual Property: By participating in the BMA, nominees grant the organizers permission to use their work, images, and information for promotional and archival purposes.

4.

Confidentiality: The BMA organizers will maintain confidentiality regarding nominees' information and judging deliberations.

5.

Changes to Terms: The BMA organizers reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions as necessary.

6Nominees/Winners' Obligations

1.

Attendance/Punctuality: Nominees/Winners are expected to attend the awards ceremony. Please note that you are expected to arrive at the venue 30 minutes before the official start of the ceremony. Be punctual.

2.

Promotional Materials: Nominees/Winners may be required to provide high-quality images and bios for promotional purposes.

3.

Social Media Engagement: Nominees/Winners are expected to promote the event using their personal or organization's social media handles.

4.

Media Engagement: Nominees/Winners may be requested to participate in pre or post-award interviews or media engagements.

5.

Dress Code: Nominees are expected to dress decently and in the case of the Dozenth edition, the IJAW TRADITIONAL ATTIRE is the dress code.

7Finality of Decisions

The decisions of the BMA judges and organizers (Sqilful Konseptz) are final and binding on all nominees. No appeals or disputes will be entertained.

By participating in the 12th edition of the Bayelsa Media Awards, nominees acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
