The 12th edition of this prestigious event christened the Dozenth edition aims to recognize and celebrate outstanding media work that promotes oil and gas reporting in the region, Bayelsa's rich cultural heritage and topics that drive investment through effective storytelling.

General Requirements

Please review the following requirements carefully before submitting your entry

Eligibility Requirements

SDD Prizes: Open to Print and Broadcast Journalists working as presenters, reporters and newscasters in Bayelsa State.

NCDMB Prizes: Open to Print or Broadcast Journalists based in the Niger Delta region and reporting on Oil and Gas and economic issues.

Other Entrants: Must be full-time or freelance Print or Broadcast journalists working in Bayelsa State.

Submission Requirements

Entries must be original work and not previously submitted for other awards.

Only one entry per Print or Broadcast Journalist is allowed.

Entries should be a maximum of 1,000 words (Print) or 3 minutes long (Broadcast).

Must have been published/broadcast between September 2024 and July, 2025.

Submission Format

Print Entries

Submit a hard copy or PDF along with a brief summary (max. 250 words) of the report to bayelsamediaawards@gmail.com.

Broadcast Entries

Submit a flash/MP3 file of the presentation or report along with a brief summary (max. 250 words) to bayelsamediaawards@gmail.com.

Deadline: All entries must be submitted on or before the 30th of July, 2025.
